I invite you to take a moment to browse through our website. You can find a wealth of information regarding upcoming events in the school and across the district. Our “In the Spotlight” section highlights some of the many fun activities that have taken place at Violet Avenue during the school year. Many of our teachers have pages linked to our website where you can find homework, classroom announcements, and highlights from classroom activities.
Parental involvement is a key ingredient to every child’s success in his or her academic career. One of our ongoing commitments to excellence is to build and maintain parental involvement through various school wide events such as Common Core Information Night. Other ways to become involved are joining the PTA or the Building Leadership Team (BLT), chaperoning field trips and volunteer opportunities such as reading a favorite book to your child’s class. Staff members use conferences, newsletters, email, and phone calls home to keep communication flowing between home and school. Parents are encouraged to strengthen this partnership by contacting the school with any questions or concerns.
Violet Avenue School continually strives for excellence in all areas of teaching and learning. We want our students to find school an enjoyable, meaningful, and enriching experience. Working together as parents, teachers and community members will ensure we reach this goal.
Best, Deanna Gonzalez
