    TOWN OF ULSTER, N.Y. — Roosevelt survived a scare from John A. Coleman Catholic High to take its season volleyball opener in four games Tuesday, winning the Mid-Hudson Athletic League match 20-25, 25-6, 25-13, 25-20.

    Heidi Fritz (12 assists, three kills, two aces), Pasqualina Volino (three kills) and Nicole Armeno (three aces) led the attack for Roosevelt.

    Franklin D. Roosevelt 3, John A. Coleman Catholic 1 – Hyde Park’s Presidents prevailed on the road, 20-25, 25-6, 25-13, 25-20, behind 12 assists, three kills and two aces from Heidi Fritz.

    Roosevelt (1-0) also got three kills from Pasqualina Volino and three service aces from Nicole Armeno.

    Shannon Kelly collected 11 kills and six digs as the Franklin D. Roosevelt High School volleyball team beat visiting Saugerties 25-10, 25-20, 25-18 in a Mid-Hudson Athletic League match on Friday.

    Kristen Cole contributed one service ace, seven kills and five digs for the Presidents (4-0 overall), who also received one ace, nine assists, nine kills and one block from Sarah Hof.

    Roosevelt extends MHAL volleyball unbeaten streak (roundup)

    HYDE PARK, N.Y. — F.D. Roosevelt High improved to 4-0 in Mid-Hudson Athletic League volleyball play with a 25-10, 25-20, 25-18 victory over Saugerties on Friday.

    Shannon Kelly had 11 kills and six digs for the Presidents, while Kristen Cole (ace, seven kills, five digs) and Sarah Hof (ace, nine assists, nine kills, one block) contributed as well.

    H.S. volleyball roundup: Roosevelt sweeps Red Hook

    Shannon Kelly’s 10 kills, five digs, three aces and one block paced the Franklin D. Roosevelt High School volleyball team to a 25-19, 25-7, 25-8 win over Red Hook in Hyde Park on Thursday.

    Nicole Armeno finished with six aces — she also served 18 straight points in the second game — and teammate Sarah Hof added five aces, five assists, three kills and two blocks for the Presidents (5-0).

    The varsity volleyball team is now 7 - 0 after a win against Marlboro last night.  Top scorer for the match was KRISTEN COLE with 3 aces and 9 kills. SARAH HOF added another ace and 5 kills. SHANNON KELLY recorded 2 aces and 2 kills. BRIANA LLAMONICA was perfect at the service line with 13 service points including 3 aces. The team travels to Wallkill today with the division title on the line.

    The varsity volleyball team earned a 1st place finish in the silver diamond division of the Walter Panas Tournament this past Saturday. The top scorers for the day were SHANNON KELLY with 8 ace serves and 21 kills, LOVLEY VAL recorded 9 block points.  BRIANA LAMONICA earned 31 assists., and SARAH HOF served up 29 service points. The team hosts Millbrook in their last home match of the season tomorrow starting at 6:00.

    Sarah Hof had three aces, nine assists, six kills and two blocks for visiting Franklin D. Roosevelt in a 25-20, 25-19, 25-18 Mid-Hudson Athletic League volleyball win over Dover on Thursday.

    Lovley Val had four kills, one block and one ace for the Presidents (13-2), who also received four kills and one ace from Shannon Kelly.

    The varsity volleyball team finished the regular season with a win against Rhinebeck ending with a 14 - 2 record. Top hitter was SHANNON KELLY with 15 kills. Scoring 6 kills each was SARAH HOF, SABRINA VOLINO and KRISTEN COLE.
