PLAYERS TO WATCH - Sarah Hof, Franklin D. Roosevelt, senior middle hitter — Roosevelt coach Sam Lowe called Hof "the most versatile player I've ever worked with," after Hof played both setter and middle along the Presidents' run to the Section 9 Class A final, collecting 101 kills and 114 assists.

For Roosevelt (4-2), Sarah Hof had an ace, 13 assists, 14 kills and three blocks, and Ciara Cancel added five kills and two blocks.
Late Monday, Rondout Valley beat Dover in Accord, 25-10, 25-23, 21-25, 25-20. Samantha Annunziata had five kills and two aces in the loss.
"After a down day (Monday), it was nice to come back (Tuesday) and play well," Dover coach Jennifer Fisher said.

Volleyball roundup: FDR battles past Red Hook in 5 sets
In a match that featured three sets decided by two points each, the Franklin D. Roosevelt High School volleyball team overcame host Red Hook 18-25, 25-23, 24-26, 27-25, 25-15, on Thursday.
Alyssa Dam had six aces, six kills and eight blocks, and Sarah Hof assisted the Presidents (8-2) with 11 aces, 15 kills and one block.
For Red Hook, Abby Carney led the way with four digs, eight kills and one block, and Lizzy Westermeyer had 13 digs, six kills and one ace. Morgan Schultz added 10 digs, five kills, 15 assists and one ace.

Volleyball roundup: Millbrook rolls over Roosevelt
The Millbrook High School volleyball team executed its gameplan and earned a home victory over Franklin D. Roosevelt on Friday, 25-8, 25-13, 25-14.
The Class C Blazers received seven kills and a block from Liz Halpin, and four kills and a block from Emily Kelly. Meredith Dignan contributed 21 assists, five kills and five aces for Millbrook (10-1).
"I definitely liked our overall performance," Millbrook coach Shawn Stoliker said. "Our goal was to keep it out of Sarah Hof's hands. She's one of the good hitters in the area."
Hof ended with seven kills and two blocks. Briana LaMonica had six assisted for Roosevelt (10-3), which takes on Rondout Valley on Tuesday.
After three days off, Millbrook will travel to take on another Section 9 squad with double-digit victories, the 12-3 Dover Dragons, whose coach, Jen Fisher, had high praise for the Blazers after her own team swept Ellenville Friday
"We'll prepare for them throughout the weekend and come out and play Dover volleyball," Fisher said. "Millbrook's always on, or near, the top (of the standings). We'll play a good, competitive match."

Franklin D. Roosevelt 3, Highland 0 — Briana Lamonica contributed 22 assists, two kills and two aces as the Presidents from Hyde Park won on the road, 25-19, 25-12, 25-16.
Sarah Hof added nine kills, three aces and a block for Roosevelt, which also capitalized on nine kills from Alyssa Dam.
Alexis Brown paced the Huskies with three aces, two digs and an assist. Highland also received two aces and two kills from Emily Rider, as well as Alexis Wilson's four assists and two aces.
