The Lady Spartans advanced, 4-2, and were scheduled to meet Webutuck in the semifinal round of the MHAL championships this week. Roosevelt, meanwhile, had to wait for the Sectional tournament to take shape before taking the field in the post-season.
Most of the action in the Spackenkill contest came in the opening half with SHS scoring first and holding a 1-0 lead for ten minutes before Profeta knotted the score temporarily at the 22:40 mark.
That was as close as it would get, however, as Spackenkill took the lead for good with a pair of goals before Camara hit the cords before intermission. The winners added an insurance goal in the second half to raise their record to 9-5-0.
While Spackenkiill outshot the Lady Presidents, 26-6, Roosevelt managed to make the most of its shots and kept the outcome in doubt until the waning moments of the second half.
