Coaches Notes: Today wasn't our day.  Red Hook's coach said it was the best he has seen his team play in three years.  I agreed with him.  We had some obvious breakdowns defensively, we couldn't seem to create any scoring opportunities, and we were just out-hustled all over the field.  Most of that is because of how well Red Hook played today.  Similar to the way we dominated them last year.  Let's put this one behind us for now.  We have the most important games ahead of us over the next two weeks.  If we can win our division games then we should get another shot at Red Hook.  Be ready to work at practice tomorrow.

RED HOOK — Kyle Murphy had two goals and an assist Monday as Red Hook High knocked Roosevelt from the undefeated boys soccer ranks with a 3-0 Mid-Hudson Athletic League triumph.

Roosevelt was 6-0 coming into the game.

Murphy put the (5-2-1) Raiders ahead nine minutes into the contest. Early in the second half, he set up Maclyn Willigan’s goal and got another unassisted tally of his own.

“We played really well. I’m very happy with the way we moved the ball and defended.

“It’s the best game we’ve played all season.”
