                                                                                                                July 19, 2020

    Dear Hyde Park Athletic Community,

The New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) has moved the start date for the fall varsity/jv athletic season to September 21st.  High School Family ID registration will now open on August 22, 2020 instead of the original date of July 24.  Modified sports start date has not been finalized as of the date of this correspondence.

Obviously plans continue to evolve and we will do our best to update you of any changes from the NYSPHSAA.   Winter and spring sports seasons will be addressed as further information becomes available to us. Please refer to the athletic website as well as  Hyde Park Athletics twitter page @athleticshpcsd for all updated information.

     Sincerely,

     Thomas Cunningham

The Hyde Park Central School District supports over a number of teams at F.D. Roosevelt High School, involving several hundred students each school year in interscholastic competition. Through the involvement of trained coaches, dedicated athletes, a supportive Board of Education, and a host of dynamic parent booster clubs, the students of Hyde Park have greatly benefited from the spirit and lessons of athletic competition.

To be eligible to participate in school sports, students must be examined and approved by a school or private physician, return a signed parent permission slip, and abide by the policies and rules set forth by the athletic department. Academic eligibility requirements must be maintained.
